Basically it is a snapshot of your entire hard drive in its current state, that you can then use to restore your PC to the exact state it was in at the time you created the image.
Better yet, you can create as many System Image as you want as long as you have the space to store them.While the System Image can be stored on a USB Drive, external HD or DVD's, the system Repair Disk can only be created on a CD/DVD. That becomes a problem with your new T460s, because I believe they removed the internal DVD drive on that model, but luckily you can create the System Repair disk on any Windows 7 computer that does have a CD/DVD since it is not machine specific.Once you have created the System Repair Disk, you can then use it to create a USB version using the link below. If you have an external DVD Drive, then you do not really need a bootable USB drive, but it is kind of nice to have one in my opinion.Note that you must make the System Repair disk on a Windows 7 PC running the same 32-bit or 64 bit version of Windows as your own.
