I own RMV too. Great sampler/synth/slicer. I trigger it with an old Akai MPD16. Lots of sounds included (but haphazardly organized). Plays my old LM4 kits. I worked my way up from RMII way back when.
If you like vintage/drum machine style drums/beats, it's outstanding, especially for $20!!!I don't own any of the other synths on sale but will likely pick up one or two. The original Alpha 1 was freeware. Alpha 3 looks like a nice, basic synth.
Octopus looks good too. Relectro is a more recent plug that was a bit of a bust, sales-wise. May try it out too. I owned some old Linplug synths ( Cronox, Delta2, daOrgan) but never upgraded them to their replacement synths when they were retired.
(Delta turned into Albino with Rob Papen). Linplug makes great plugs. Peter is an excellent and responsive developer. Great value/quality. For a long time I used to get my acoustic drums through RM IV/RMV plus one of the Wizoo libraries in LM4. One of the nice things about that combination is that RMV has a varizer function which adds a bit of variety in timing and pitch, which does a good job making things sound a bit more human. Program in a series of 16th or 32nd notes at the same velocity and play them back with the varizer turned on and off and you will see what I mean.
When it comes to acoustic drums, it's not going to replace AD/BFD/EZD. It's not even going to replace Session Drummer.

On the other hand, I've also heard that a cymbal is like a car in respect to it's remaining lifespan is directly proportional to how it has been treated/played. A car may look new and show no signs of visible decay, but how many miles it has left on it is influenced greatly by how the previous owner has. May 12, 2011. I have a lot of respect for him and his work but thus far I haven't experienced any that turn me on and certainly none that justify the price according to.

One of my favorite kits is an Industrial kit, which is sounds of banging on pipes, vents, dumpsters, and other machinery. It also comes with quite a few MIDI loops from GrooveMonkee. These are in some kind of protected format, but you can drag them from the RMV browser to your DAW.
Mesh Magic Russ One thing that I did not like is that I could not get it to work using the Insert Synth menu. I had to do the old school way of creating an audio and midi track and then inserting the synth in the FX bin.Does the plugin need to be 'configured as a synth' in Plugin Mgr. Before you can insert it as a synth?I hadn't thought of that. It's been a long time since I had to do that. I ultimately decided that it didn't bring that much to the table that I didn't already have and uninstalled the demo.
